Peggy Maney Smelcer, age 74, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Smelcer was born on November 5, 1941 in Homer, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Margaret Cochran Maney; and brother, Don Maney. Mrs. Smelcer was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church. She was a retired co-owner of North Georgia 85 Auto Truck Plaza in Commerce, Georgia for 35 years.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Smelcer, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Todd Harper, of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Tina Smelcer, of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, James and Darla Maney, of Seattle, WA; grandson and fiancé, Adam Harper and Christine Lengel; grandchildren, Makayla Smelcer, and Aaron Smelcer; niece and spouse, Darcie and Duane Koski; nephew and spouse, Darin and Wendi Maney.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Swayne Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
