Lanny Ray Cantrell

  Lanny Ray Cantrell, Sr., 66, of Dawsonville passed away on September 24, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness.
            Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David Chumley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.           
            Mr. Cantrell was born on August 27, 1950 in Gainesville to the late Christy Cantrell and Kathleen Mathis Cantrell. He was retired from Tyson Foods and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lanny Ray Cantrell; brother, Larry Cantrell.
            Lanny is survived by his wife, Dianne Cantrell of Dawsonville; daughter, Katherine Ponthier of Gainesville; sisters, Kathy (Phil) Holbrook of Cumming and Donna (Ricky) Layman of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brittany Cantrell, Hannah Ponthier, Megan Ponthier and Jordon Cantrell; great grandchild, Jaxzon Ray Stephens.
