Mildred Martha Lothridge

Obituary Date: Sunday, September 25, 2016

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 28,  2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church for Mildred Lothridge, age 96 of Gainesville. The Rev. Geoff Grubbs and Rev. Calvin Haney will officiate. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lothridge passed away Sunday September 25, 2016. 

Mrs. Lothridge was born January 2, 1920 to William Lytle and Alice Etta Sims Pardue in the Loudsville community of White County. She was the 11th of eleven brothers and sisters and the last to pass. 

She was raised Methodist and supported several Methodist churches over the years lastly St Paul United Methodist. She was from a 5 generation family who never missed camping at Loudsville Camp Meeting in White County.   

Mrs. Lothridge organized the Pardue Reunion in White County in 1973. The location was at  Loudsville Methodist Campground. Mrs. Lothridge attended every year with her green beans and creamed corn. She made the statement just recently about missing the first reunion this year. 

Relative and friends who had family in the local hospitals could  always find a hot meal and a place to rest at the Lothridge home, she was all about family. 

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Redwine Chapter, She was a member of Crab Apple Garden Club and retired from Sears-Roebuck Company. 

She was preceded in death by her husband William Grady Lothridge in 2008 and her second son Milton Lynn Lothridge in 1981. 


She is survived by two sons; William Jerry Lothridge and wife Shirley, Cleveland and Harry Malcolm Lothridge and wife Sherry, Denton, Texas. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Dinah Bruce Lothridge, Gainesville, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Darla Lothridge Sosby and her son, Blake Sosby, Bruce Lothridge and his children, Mills Lothridge and Nellie Kate Lothridge,  Sam Lothridge, Melody Lothridge and her daughter, Whitney Little, Jennifer Lothridge Davis and her husband John and their daughter Caitlin, Britt Lothridge and his wife Anneke and their children Anna Lothridge and Grady Lothridge.
