Wilma Pauline Thompson Hanes

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 21, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church for Wilma Pauline Thompson Hanes, age 89 of Gainesville. The Rev. Geoff Grubbs, Rev. Calvin Haney and Rev. Mac Riley will officiate. The body will lie-in- state from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hanes passed away Monday September 19, 2016.

Wilma graduated from Airline and Perry Business School, and for many years worked in the Hall County Tax office marking the digest.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Angler's/Willing Workers Sunday School Class for over sixty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hanes, grandson Matthew McCorlew, brothers Mark and Lamar Thompson, sisters Nell Thompson, Sarah Casper, Mildred Brown, Frances Thompson.

Survivors:  Daughter Jean McCorlew, son and daughter-in-law Greg Hanes and Vanessa Behler, as well as many nieces and nephews

She loved her family, her friends, her church, and her Lord.  She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 404 Washington Street Gainesville, GA 30501.
