Paul S. Allen, age 92 of Demorest, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at a private healthcare facility.

Born in Habersham County on August 17, 1924, he was a son of the late Walter Allen and Lily Sosebee Allen. Mr. Allen was retired from Clarkesville Mills as a mechanic. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Allen was a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, wood working, and time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Belle Williams Allen; son, Dennis Allen; special nephew, Jimmy Allen; and several brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are son, Shawn Allen of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Betty Allen of Clarkesville; daughter-in-law, Terri Allen of Hollywood; grandchildren, Kasey Allen and his wife, Jennifer of Hollywood, Kristy Allen of Hollywood, Jason Allen and his wife, Christina of Decatur, Justin Allen of Sandford, FL; great grandchildren, Asher Allen, Brody Allen, Jase Allen, Emma Green, and Paul T. Allen; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, September 19, 2016, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Steve McIntyre and Rev. Garvis Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, and the Georgia National Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Sunday.
