Maxie Jasper Hubbard of Cumming and Athens, Georgia, passed away on September 16, 2016, after a long illness. Born on September 30, 1928, he was preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene and Toy Hubbard; his sister, Eunice Hubbard Bennett; mother- and father-in-law, Anderson and Bertie (Akins) Holtzclaw; brother-in-law, Edward Holtzclaw; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Holtzclaw Turner, and brother-in-law, Jerry Gibson, all of Cumming, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emma Lou (Holtzclaw) Hubbard; daughter, Maxine Hubbard Burton (Bob), granddaughter, Rachael Burton Dillon (Eddie), grandson, Michael Burton, great grandchildren, Robbie, Ella and Lizzie Dillon, sister-and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Grove of Laurel, Maryland, sister-in-law, Nellie Holtzclaw Gibson of Cumming, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens, WEST, Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1:00 until 3:30 PM and 5:30 until 9:00 PM. They will also receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, GA, Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM. Services will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, Cumming, GA with
Rev. Keith Martin, Dr. Randy Smith and Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery, Athens, GA.
Mr. Hubbard retired from General Motors following 30 years of service. Former coworkers will be honorary pallbearers.
