Lawrence Daniel Gilbert

 Mr. Lawrence Daniel Gilbert, age 79 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illnes.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Ricky Elrod will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Gilbert was born January 1, 1937 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Weldon R. Gilbert and Fannie Mae Stells Gilbert.  He was retired from Con-Agra and was of the Baptist Faith.  Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Justin Fambrough and 4 brothers.         

Mr. Gilbert is survived by wife of 51 years, Sara Gilbert of Gainesville, his children, Charlene Sullens of Gainesville, Denise & Charles Dyer of Lula and Wayne & Rose Mary Fambrough of Ohio, 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and grandson, Randy Callahan.
