Julia Juliet Law Gatlin

Julia Juliet Law Gatlin was born in Jackson County Georgia on July 18, 1921 to Joseph Q. Law and Ina Bell Burns Law. Julia lived in Gainesville for a number of years and she later moved to Pomona, CA where she worked in the Medical field.  She later moved to York, SC where she worked and retired from Maklenburg County Mental Health System.  She was the oldest of eleven children and she was given the name, "The Oldest" a title that she held proudly and loved to claim so dearly.  Julia great enjoyments were sewing, birds, singing shape note music, watching any sporting programs on television, attending Sardis Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed worshiping with family and cherished friend Adriane Lockwood.

She also enjoyed talking and sharing life stories with her friends and close neighbor Otis Anderson at Lighthouse Manor.

Ms. Julia was preceded in death by her husband LT Gatlin.  She leaves to cherish her memories her sisters: Emma Hutchens Tutman of Gainesville, GA, Bernice Thurmond of Gainesville, GA, Dorothy Durant of Philadelphia, PA, Alice Faye Law of Gainesville, GA, Honor Raye Hall of Gainesville, GA, Betty Joyce Owens of Gainesville, GA, bother Edward Law of Gainesville, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She will be dearly missed!

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Sardis Presbyterian Church, 652 Gordon Street, Jefferson, GA 30549.  Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
