Ralph Lamar Hamby, age 76, of Cumming passed away Monday, September 12, 2016. A life-long resident of Forsyth County, he was a member and Deacon at Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Ralph retired from Lockheed and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Hamby; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jennifer Hamby; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jeff Davis, all of Cumming; granddaughter, Ellie Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Doris Hamby of Cumming, Larry and Shirley Hamby of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Noell and Earnest Honea of Cumming; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Tommy Butler of Cumming; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Martin, Rev. Dexter Gravitt, Rev. Tim Hubbard and Rev. Danny Bennett. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ralph’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
