William Michael "Mike" McGee

William Michael “Mike” McGee, 63, of Oakwood passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Phil Carpenter and Johnny Tankersley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McGee was born on March 6, 1953 in Gainesville to the late Bo McGee and Grace Rider McGee. He was the owner and operator of McGee’s Cleaning Services, Inc. and worked for the Hall County Board of Education as a bus driver. He graduated from South Hall High School where in 1972 he was voted Mr. South Hall. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was “Mr. Mike” to many of the children in the community that he saw daily as their bus driver. Mike and Denise were Santa and Mrs. Claus for many years. He always enjoyed seeing the smiles on the children’s faces. He played his part well. He gave so much joy and special memories to everyone he met. He will be missed by so many.

 Mike is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Denise McGee of Oakwood; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Stephen Hendrix of Oakwood; grandson, Grant Hendrix of Oakwood; sister, Linda McGee Davis of Clermont; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Debbie McGee of Flowery Branch; sister, Tenna Anderson of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
