Spero G. Vasilakis

Spero G. Vasilakis, age 85 of Auburn, GA died Sunday, September 4, 2016. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Atlanta.  Fr. Paul Kaplanis will officiate. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Annunciation Day School 2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30329

Spero is survived by his wife of over 60 years Demetra Vasilakis, Auburn. Daughter, Ethel Vasilakis, Auburn. Brother, Nick Vasilakis and wife, Harriet, Duluth, GA. Brothers and sisters in-law, John Kotsolis and wife, Demetra, Athens, Greece, Nick Kotsolis and wife, Eugenia, Athens Greece. Spero was born in Chicago, IL and had lived in the Atlanta area the past 20 years. Education was very important to Spero. He was a graduate of Chicago City College, a proud Veteran of the US Navy where he served during the Korean War and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation.
