Elizabeth (Beth) Thomasson Procter

Elizabeth (Beth) Thomasson Procter passed away August 28, 2016 at the age of 63. She was born January 5, 1953 in Carrollton, Georgia to Libby and Frank Thomasson of Carrollton. She grew up in Carrollton graduating from Carrolton High School in 1971. On August 26, 1971 she married Charles Daniel Procter of Carrollton and on January 10th, 1972 gave birth to the couple's first child, Charles Daniel Procter, Jr.

Defying all the odds, this marriage of 19 year olds stood the test of time as a shining example of a loving couple. Dan and Beth were scheduled to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on the evening that she suffered a cardiac arrest.

Beth dedicated her life to raising her two boys, Charley and Zach, and making a home for her family. She also spent time working on accounting and billing both for Lakeview Academy and for Obesity Solutions.

In 2001, Beth was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She went into remission shortly thereafter, but was diagnosed with a relapse in 2004. Despite a grave prognosis, Beth maintained an amazing spirit and determination, and outlasted the doctors' estimates by 10 years.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Daniel Procter, Sr, their sons Dr. Charles Daniel Procter, Jr. and Zachary Walter Procter, daughters-in-law Dr. Nirali Patel Procter and Ashley Burdette Procter, and grandchildren Dillon, Kiran, Kamran, Kaelyn, and Caroline.

The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to your choice of either the American Cancer Society or the American Humane Society.
