Mr. Jeffery Scott Atkins age 58 of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday August 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Todd Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday August 26, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday August 27, 2016 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Atkins was born on July 18, 1958 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Benjamin Rufus Atkins and Macie Ray Harvell Atkins. He was retired from Ace Gaffey as a Maintenance Electrician and Crane Technician and was a member of Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville. He proudly served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Deborah Lee Martin Atkins, son, Nathan Scott Atkins, sister, Linda Marie Atkins, brother, Donald Ray Atkins, and brother-in-law, Mike Dale.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Pittman Atkins of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Cody Nguyen of Dahlonega, daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Jamie Wade of Cleveland, son, Jason Scott Atkins of Gainesville, daughter, Jenny Atkins of Gainesville, Pop-Pop’s babies, Arica Nguyen of Dahlonega, Melanie Nguyen of Dahlonega, Jacob Nguyen of Dahlonega, Jordan Charamond of Cleveland, Josiah Wade of Cleveland, Nora Pittman of Maysville, Maggie Pittman of Maysville, Josh Pittman of Maysville, and Molly Pittman of Maysville, sister, Gwenda Dale of Gainesville, sister, Lawana Atkins, and brother, Dwayne Atkins, brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Heidi Pittman of Maysville, brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Rhonda Pittman of Maysville, mother-in-love, Mary Lou Wood of Maysville, nephew, Benjamin Dale, and Alan Dale, and a number of nieces and nephews and other family members survive.
