He honorably served his country until 1960 when he joined the US space program at Cape Canaveral, FL. Doug retired in 2001 and settled in Buford, GA to enjoy his family. He attended Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA where he belonged to the D.O.V.E.S Sunday School Class and gladly participated in the Frontline ministry until he suffered a stroke in 2014. Doug loved the Atlanta Braves. He liked to play golf. He often referred to Florida as the “promised land”. The Florida Gators held a special place in his heart. He taught us to love Jesus and to love people. He shared the love of Christ with others. He smiled a lot and always had a corny joke to share. He was a great listener and put others first. Doug was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He will be missed dearly. Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel 770-945-6924 Share memories of Doug at hamiltonmillchapel.com
