Lewis "Lewy" Wofford

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Lewis “Lewy” Wofford, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, August 19, 2016.  Mr. Wofford was born in Flowery Branch, Georgia a son of the late Hoyt and Maudell Gilleland Wofford, was of the Methodist faith, and a U.S. Army Veteran.  “Lewy” as he was known to his friends and co – workers, retired after thirty seven loyal and dedicated years of service with the Sinkwich Family and Northeast Sales and Distributing.  In addition to his parents Mr. Wofford is preceded by two brothers, Ralph and Allen Wofford.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Payne Wofford of Jefferson, two daughters; Laura Brock and her husband Nelson of Jefferson, Lou Ann Puckett and her husband William of Jefferson.  Son, Lewis Wofford and his wife Lisa of Acworth, brother, Earl Wofford and his wife Deborah of Comer.  Five grandchildren; Katie Roth and her husband Joe, Lee Brock, Will Puckett, Drew Puckett, and Christopher Wofford.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2016 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Ross Wheeler officiating with burial to follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Nelson Brock, Lee Brock, Will Puckett, Drew Puckett, Lew Wofford, and Richard Smith.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the funeral home.  Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Youth Group, C/O Bethany United Methodist Church, 4659 Brockton Road, Jefferson, Georgia  30549.
