David Edwin Haslett

David Edwin Haslett, age 79, of Demorest passed away August 10, 2016. 

Dave was born April 22, 1937 in Akron, Ohio.  His family moved to Maywood, Illinois when he was a child.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George William Haslett and Mildred C. Woodell, and sister, Suzanne Lamont.

Dave worked as an energy consultant for Northern Illinois Gas Company.  He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed music, especially singing bass in quartets.

Dave retired and moved to Georgia in 1997.  He loved Georgia and attending festivities.  

Survivors include his wife, Shirlene Haslett of Demorest, sons Timothy Haslett of Bloomingdale, Illinois and Todd Haslett of Peoria, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Lauren Haslett of Roselle, Illinois; stepchildren Joan and Noel DelaCfruz of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Wade and Michelle Frevert of River Falls, Wisconsin, and Jan and Tony Pasko of Pensacola, Florida; brother and sister-in-law Jarad and Diane Haslett of Bangor, Maine; sister and brother-in-law Maggie and Salvatore Lowry of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 6:00 -7:00 PM.
