Mrs. Emma Louise Hatchel Collier, age 95, of 353 S. Pine Street, Toccoa, GA, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at her residence,
A daughter of the late Jesse Gordon and Cora Frienschnek Hatchel, she was born August 23, 1920 in Texarkana, TX, having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse having retired from the Stephens County Hospital, a member of Zebulon Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene Collier and Kenneth Collier and a brother, Gordon Hatchel and two sisters, Virginia Bundy and Frances Kandzer.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Bill Burnette of Decatur, Illinois, son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jody Collier of Toccoa, four grandchildren, Karen Collier, David Collier, Daron Collier and Matthew Burnette, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special Thanks to all the Hospice Staff for all the wonderful care, support and love that was shared.
Graveside Services will be held 3 PM Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 PM and Monday from 1 until service hour.
