Charlie J. Tanner

Mr. Charlie J. Tanner, 84 of Gainesville died Friday August 5, 2016.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Tanner was the son of the late James and Bell Satterfield Tanner.  He was retired from Overnight Trucking with over 36 years of service.  Mr. Tanner was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frances "Billie" Tanner, Gainesville; daughter, Debbie Little, Gainesville; grandsons and wives, Jeremy and Dani Beth Little, Flowery Branch; Jordan and Lauren Little, Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Hampton Little and Fisher Rudick, both of Dallas, TX; sisters, Carrie Mae Puckett, Anna Lou Patterson, sister and brother-in-law, Mattie and Russell Hayes, all of Gainesville.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Tanner is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Euzene Edmondson, Lois Pirkle, Myrtle Broom, Bonnie Delong, Mazelle Crow, brothers, Roy Lee Tanner and Ernest Tanner.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 7, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Jimmy Campbell and Rev. Darryl Womack will officiate.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Terry Crawford officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday August 7 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia. 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 115, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
