George B Spain

Mr. George B. Spain, age 82, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. David Matthews will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Spain was born November 3, 1933 to the late George & Ruby Spain in Gainesville.  He is a retired Deputy from the Hall County Sheriff’s Department and a Veteran of the Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Spain was a member at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for 32 years.

Mr. Spain is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy J. Spain; son Michael Spain; and grandchildren, Hannah Spain, Emilee Spain and Gunner Spain.
