Thomas Napoleon Fain, Jr.

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Thomas Napoleon Fain Jr. age 85 of Clarkesville. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am, Monday, August 1, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Old Nacoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.
“Junior”  was born in White County on October 25, 1930 and was the eldest son of the late Thomas N. Fain Sr. and Louvine Adams Fain. He served with honor in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of Sgt 1st Class. Prior to his entry into the Army, Junior worked in the logging industry, following his discharge from the Army, Junior would begin a career with Blalock Lumber Co, that would span some 30 years. Later he was employed as a line mechanic with the Fieldale Corporation. He was a longtime member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Tatum Fain, sisters Linda Stewart, Helen Anderson and Pearl Alexander as well as brothers, Herbert Fain and William Fain.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Randy and Jean Fain of Clarkesville; granddaughters, Stephanie Fain of Homer, Alaska, Jessica Fain of Chicago, Illinois and Catherine Fain of Clarkesville; sister, Opal Beavers of Atlanta and brother, Watson Fain of Duluth. Junior is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
