Mildred Smelley Young, age 93 of Homer, GA passed away Sunday July 24, 2016.
Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Moses Nelson and Mary Magdalene Coffee Smelley, the widow of William Preston Young, a member of Homer United Methodist Church, and was retired from DFACS, 20 years with Banks County Library and 20 years with Blue Bell.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Esther and Thomas Glenn Hawes, Athens, Anne and Sam Moon, Homer; grandchildren, Matthew and Daphne Moon, Homer, Samantha Moon, Athens, Jonathan and Emily Hawes, Albq, Mexico; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Moon, Emily Moon and Sara Moon, all of Homer, GA.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Thursday July 28, 2016 at Homer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim McLendon and Rev. Steve Lewallen officiating. Burial will follow in the Banks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday July 27, 2016 at the funeral home.
