Leo Ivester, age 75 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Habersham County on March 2, 1941, he was a son of the late Newt Preston Ivester and Idella Ivester. Mr. Ivester retired from Scovill Manufacturing with 37 years of service. He was a dedicated and devoted member of Grace Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. He also led devotion at The Oaks Assisted Living and volunteered at the Shadows of the Steeples. In his spare time, Mr. Ivester also enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

Surviving are wife of 43 years, Charlene Pilgrim Ivester of Clarkesville; sons, Jeremy Leo Ivester of Clarkesville and Craig Norris of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn & David Brock of Cornelia; grandchildren, Peyton Craven and Bailee Ivester; brother, Carl Ivester of Turnerville; sisters, Mildred Holland of Turnerville and Betty Franklin of Clarkesville.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Yarber and Rev. Chris York officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Turnerville with Rev. Dennis Dills officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Monday.
