Oliver Cantrell

 Mr. Oliver Clifton Cantrell Jr. age 97 of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday July 24, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Terry Crawford will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday July 23, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cantrell was born on November 18, 1918 in Hackelburg, Alabama to the late Oliver Clifton Cantrell Sr. and Lula Nix Cantrell. He was retired from Pacolet in New Holland and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vera Davis Cantrell, sisters, Lena Mae Wood, and Mattie Lou Cleveland, brothers, Jim Cantrell and, Cecil Cantrell.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Paul Grizzle of Dahlonega, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Franny Cantrell of Athens, Alabama, grandson and wife, Blake and Kim Grizzle of Dahlonega, grandson and wife, Ryan and Kay Grizzle of Dahlonega, granddaughter and husband, Kimberly and Jason Shehan of Summerville, Alabama, great grandchildren, Waylan, Hannah, Thomas and Haley Grizzle, Niyan, Zaylee, and Kylar Shehan, sisters, Jean Pritchett of Alabama, and Frankie Pritchett of Alabama.
