Mr. Jonathan “Johnny” Ellis Smith, age 48, of Nicholson died Thursday, July 14, 2016. Mr. Smith was born in Athens to Betty Jo Hopkins Smith of Nicholson and the late, JW Smith. Mr. Smith was a truck driver. In addition to his father, Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mitchell Smith, Randy Hembree, and Ronny Smith; and sister, Sandra Hubbard.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters, Amanda Smith of Greenville, GA and Tori Smith of Nicholson; son, Justin Smith (Jennifer) of Chatsworth, GA; adopted children, Kayla Lemmonds (Chris), Toni Shelnutt, Jordan Whitehead, Justin Lytle, and Chelsey Kitchens; brothers, Marty Hembree, Brian Mitchell, Wesley Smith, and Jamie Sears; sisters, Elaine Culvert, Kay Little, Kelly Bridgeman, Lisa Wheeler, and Leigh Sears; eleven grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 18th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Bonds and Rev. Matthew Mote officiating with the interment following in the Nicholson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 5-8 PM.
