James Thomas “Rooster” Rouse

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Thomas “Rooster” Rouse, age 68, of Jefferson, who passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Mr. Rouse was born in Braselton, Georgia, a son to the late Major Rutherford Rouse and the late Lena Murel McNeil Rouse. Mr. Rouse was a meat cutter for the McEver Packing Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his son, Chris Rouse.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Satterfield Rouse of Jefferson; children, Shane Rouse and his wife Margie of Maysville; Gina Cronier and her husband Bryan of Jefferson, Brant Rouse of Hoschton, Jimmy Rouse and his wife Felicia of Jefferson; Michael Gable of Gainesville; brother, Earl McNeal of Hoschton; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.

The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Evans Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 – 3 PM on Saturday, prior to the service.
