Susie Lee Chester

Susie Lee Chester, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Monday July 11, 2016 at Pruitt Health in Jasper following a period of declining health.

Born March 25, 1929 to the late Earnest and Stella Mae Arrendale, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Susie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and worked for a number of years at Amicalola Falls Lodge and Forrest Hills Resort.  A loving mother and grandmother she was also preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Chester; sons, Jerry Chester, Jackie Chester, Scotty Chester; daughter, Carolyn Massey; granddaughter, Jill Kendall; brothers, Joe Arrendale, Seldon Arrendale.

Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Belinda and Steve Lowe, Jasper, Renee and Steve Haywood, Dawsonville, Kenny Massey, Jasper; daughter in law, Mary Chester, Dawsonville; brother and sisters in law, Cecil and Joyce Arrendale, Dahlonega, Berry Jo Arrendale, Dawsonville, Dora Arrendale, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Anita, Tina, Penny, Chelsey, Chris, Donna, Jesse, Carly; several great grandchildren; a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 13, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joel Crotzer will officiate.  Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6PM until 8PM on Tuesday.
