Paulina Garrison Casper, age 62, of Maysville, GA and Lakeport, FL died Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence in Maysville. She was born November 18, 1953 in Commerce, GA to Betty Chambers Garrison Strickland; and step-father, Doyle Strickland of Homer and the late Herbert D. Garrison, Sr. She was one of four children. Paulina graduated from Banks County High School, Homer, GA in 1971, and then Kennesaw Junior College in 1973 with an Associate of Science Degree. She worked at BJC Hospital and Nursing Home from 1973 to 1977 and later with Howard T. Abney, MD in Athens, GA for 16 years. She enjoyed singing at church, weddings and other occasions. She enjoyed camping with her motor home group and riding her Goldwing Trike with her husband and the RCR Riders. While in Florida, Paulina loved going out on the airboat with the Lakeport FL Airboaters, playing bingo and sitting around talking to many friends.
In addition to her father, Paulina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar S. and Lillie Parson Garrison and William (Bill) and Eva Mae Mize Chambers; step-grandmother, Roxy Chambers; sister-in-law, Vivian W. Garrison; and step-grandson, Watson Elzey.
In addition to her mother and step-father, Paulina is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, A. Dwayne Casper of the home; daughter, Melody Cochran Fowler (Wayne) and their child, Garrison of Homer, GA; two step-daughters, Melissa C. Espy (Ned) and their children, Holly and Suzanne of Buford, GA and Miriam C. Elzey (Vince) and their children, Madison and Graham of Cumming, GA; sister, Donna G. Payne (Jerry) and their children, Joy and John of Homer, GA; brothers, Herbert (Bo) Garrison, Jr. and his children, Christy, Eva Mae, Kayla Beth, Lydia and Lil Bo of Homer, GA and Oscar S. Garrison, II and his children, Pierce and Parker of Hoschton, GA; sisters-in-law, Brenda C. Savage of Bethlehem, GA and Sheryl C. McGaha of Winder, GA; a very loving aunt, Syble Garrison of Homer, GA; and many nieces, cousins, aunts and friends. She loved her fur baby, a Min Pin, Maggie Mae.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, July 11 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM. The family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to Mt.
