Stephen O'Neil "Steve" Scott

Stephen O’Neil “Steve” Scott, age 73 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 4:30pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend David Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Scott was born November 2, 1942 in Carrollton, Georgia to Dewey Scott and Lanoy Patterson Scott. He was retired from Black Book as a computer programmer and was a member of Lanier Christian Church. Mr. Scott was very active with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Patsy Harper and his niece, Brenda Green.

Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 54 ½ years, Carol Scott; son, Greg Scott of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kelly Scott of Gainesville; grandson, Tyler Scott of Gainesville and granddaughter, Macenzie Scott of Gainesville.
