Robert Douglas “Doug” Kyle, age 69 of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 08, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Cornelia, Georgia on July 29, 1946, he was a son of the late James Marion & Irene Elizabeth Wuthridge Kyle. Mr. Kyle was a Vietnam War veteran, having proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He retired from Mabry & Haynes Construction with many years of service. Mr. Kyle enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, bird watching, & his cats. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Jones.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Victoria Ricardo Kyle of Mt. Airy; sons & daughter-in-law, Rodney Kyle of SC, Paul Kyle of Mt. Airy, James & Jennifer Kyle of Buford, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Valerie & Wayne Armour of Cleveland, GA; brothers & sister-in-law, James & Susan Kyle of Cornelia, GA, John Walden Merck of Cumming, GA; sister, Kathleen Woodall of Cornelia, GA; grandchildren, Joshua & Angel McLendon of Cleveland, GA, Chelsea Armour of Royston, GA, Kaitlin Armour, Wayne Armour, Jr., Kylie Armour, all of Cleveland, GA, Torrington Kyle of Buford, GA, Justin Kyle of Demorest, GA; great-grandchildren, Jordyn & Nolan McLendon of Cleveland, GA, Breana & Gracie Taouis of Royston, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Tanner officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 p.m. & 7 until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
