Brian Mark Taylor

Obituary Date: Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Mr. Brian Mark Taylor of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Friday July 1, 2016, after a brave battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was 57 years old.

Originally from Southport, England, Mr. Taylor served in the British Army from 1975 until 1994. During this time, Mr. Taylor was selected to attend the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall, west London. Upon completion of his studies, he was appointed Bandmaster of the Light Infantry Salamanca Band.

Following his retirement from her majesty’s armed forces, Mr. Taylor moved with his family to Gainesville, Georgia to take up the position of Band Director at Riverside Military Academy. He subsequently worked as an independent contractor, in and around the Gainesville area.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Taylor, of Southport, England. He is survived by his father, Brian Taylor, also of Southport; his beloved wife, Debbie Taylor of Gainesville; his three sons, Ben, Sam and Josh; and sisters Carolyn Williams and Jacqueline Shearman.

The funeral will be a small, private ceremony, with a further gathering of friends at a later date, to be announced.
