Brenda “Gayle” Hubbard Reid, 71, of Lilburn passed away Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born January 8, 1945 to the late Thurston “Boss” and Bertis Hubbard, she was born and raised in Dawson County but had lived in Lilburn over 25 years. Gayle was a 1962 graduate of Dawson County High School. For many years she worked in the offices of numerous businesses in the Atlanta area such as Sears, Coulter Electronics, and Apex. An avid sports fan, she loved the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, U.G.A. Bulldogs and NASCAR. She enjoyed country music, especially Alan Jackson. Gayle was a very devoted mother and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Reid, Lilburn; sister and brother in law, Faye and Frank Abercrombie, Dawsonville; aunts, Arlene Swafford, Dawsonville, Leila Bruce, Dawsonville; two nieces and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 2, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 until 8 at the funeral home.
