Joseph Wayne Peterson

Mr. Joseph Wayne Peterson, age 60, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 following a brief illness.

He spent most of his life in Gainesville, GA, but loved to travel, and had spent the past 10 years as a resident of Lumpkin County. He was an avid fisherman, worked as a carpenter, and served his country in the United States Army.

Joe Wayne is survived by his wife, Margaret Peterson, Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Patsy Peterson, Dawsonville, GA; daughter, Sherry Doolin and wife, Ridgeway, VA; daughters, Traci Peterson and Latasha Armour, both of Dahlonega, GA; and son, Joseph Peterson, Jr., Manchester, GA. 8 grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

A Celebration of Life service for Joe Wayne is scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Jesus’ Name Apostolic Church 103 Hugh Stowers Rd. Dawsonville, GA.
