Mr. Charles Herbert Jordan, age 86 of 250 Indian Hill Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, June 27, 2016.
A son of the late Edgar Jones and Mattie Lois Stephens Jordan, he was born December 17, 1929 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was a graduate of Toccoa High School, a veteran of the National Guard and owned and operated American Janitorial Supply since 1959. He was a member of the VFW Post 4346, Toccoa Elks Lodge, an avid golfer, was club champion of Toccoa Golf Club, a member of the Sons of American Revolution and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Russell Jordan and by a daughter, Patrice Ann Jordan.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Kay Ritchie Jordan; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ken Frier of Cornelia; son, Darren Jordan of Toccoa; three grandchildren, Adam, Matt and Kristin Benfield; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brianna and Kinsley Benfield; the mother of his children, Susan Vaughter Jordan of Cornelia; sister, Hilda J. Means of Mt. Airy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 2 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Adam Benfield, Matt Benfield, Ken Frier, Wesley Kellar, Harold Hembrick and Bill Stovall.
The family will be at the home of the Mr. and Mrs. Ken Frier, 327 Running Deer Road, Cornelia and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Online condolences can be made by visiting the website at www.acree-davisfh.com.
