Marvin Lamar Phillips

Marvin Lamar Phillips, age 71 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor John Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:00-9:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Phillips was born September 1, 1944 in Commerce, Georgia to Cordis Phillips and Estelle Garner Phillips. He was retired from Rockwell Automation. Mr. Phillips was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Brooks, Mary Lou Whitehead and his brother, Bill Phillips.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his daughter, Beverly Rademacher of Gainesville; daughter, Shelia Chandler of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin Dwayne Phillips and Linda Phillips of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Tammy Phillips of Gainesville; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
