James Gary Thomason

Mr. James Gary Thomason, age 53 of 247 Mt. View Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at New Horizons Limestone Nursing Home, Gainesville, Georgia.

A son of Calvin and Linda Edmonds Thomason, he was born October 7, 1962 in Baldwin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County.  He served in the Navy for three years, worked for Universal Maintenance as a backhoe operator for two years and was a member of The Pointe.  He was preceded in death by a niece, Sara Naomi Houser.

Survivors include his parents, Calvin and Linda Edmonds Thomason of the home; son, Christopher Thomason of Sacramento, California; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and William Houser of Arnoldville, Georgia;; nieces, Ashley Adams of Arnoldville, Georgia and Chance Adams of Toccoa; great-nephew, Parker Adams of Toccoa; fiancé, Bobbie Jo Martin of Carnesville and her grandchildren, Madison and Gage Bell; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 26, 2016, 3 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Hunter Ramsey and Mr. Roger Ramsey officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, William Houser, J.T. Neal, Teddy Webb, Timmy Pressley, Tanner Thomason and Greg Thomason.  Honorary escort will be Parker Adams, Rex Canup and Tony Bell.

The family will be at the home on Mt. View Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 PM until 8 PM. Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. James Gary Thomason.
