Derek Etchu Tambe

        Mr. Derek Etchu Tambe age 52 of Cameroon, Africa went to be home with the Lord Tuesday June 07, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

            Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Pastor Jimmie Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday June 24, 20126 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery of Kembong in Kembong, Cameroon, Africa.

            Mr. Tambe was born on June 24, 1963 in Limbe, Cameroon to the late Andrew Etchu Tambe and Joan Etaka Tanyimboh of Cameroon, Africa. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Dereka Manchong Etchu Tambe. Mr. Tambe was a graduate of Gainesville State College and University of Alabama Huntsville, where he received his master’s in science mathematics. He was a long time resident of Memphis, Tennessee where he taught as a college professor at several colleges including Northwest Mississippi community College, University of Memphis and Southwest Community College. He was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was the life of the party and will truly be missed.

            Mr. Tambe is survived by his mother, Joan Etaka Tanyimboh, daughters, Jalessa Etchu- Tambe, and Vanessa Etchu-Tambe, grand-daughter, Alyssa Etchu-Tambe, sisters, Obi Tambe-Ndip, Pascaline Tanyimboh, Nkongoho Tanyimboh, Mandip Arrah Ashu Arrey, Mbeng Etchu Tambe Asana, brothers, Tanyi Etchu Tambe, Pascal Tanyimboh, Ekema Etchu Tambe and Collins Tanyimboh, special aunt, Frances Manyi Tanyimboh, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
