Tessie Scoggins Gilbert

Tessie Scoggins Gilbert, age 100, of Buford, Georgia died Monday, June 13, 2016. 

A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.  Rev. Russell Bruce and Rev. Jeremy Thomas will officiate.  In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Beech Haven Baptist Church W.M.U. or building fund. 

Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Gilbert, an infant daughter and 7 brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her daughters and sons in-law, Libby and Larry McAmish, Flowery Branch, Kitty and Bill Thomas, Athens; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister June Smith, Clarkston; many nieces and nephews. 

Tessie was born in Atlanta and previously lived in Dahlonega and Athens.  She was a homemaker and active in her church throughout her life.
