Mrs. Vera Lucille Bowen Wolff, age 98, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Bell Minor Home in Gainesville, Georgia.
A Hall County native, Mrs. Wolff was born in Clermont on August 22, 1917 to parents Frank Esley and Nannie Rebecca O’Kelley Bowen. The family moved to Americus where she spent most of her growing-up years. She then attended the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce in 1939. She was a former resident of Miami and Ocala, Florida for 65 years, and retired from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL . Mrs. Wolff had been a resident of Dahlonega for the past 4 and a half years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wolff was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Rudolph Wolff, and her six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Susan and Anthony Lancaster of Dahlonega, son and daughter-in-law; John and Rose Wolff of Ocala, Florida, grandchildren; Jennifer Wolff, Lisa Wolff and Brian Dewing, granddaughter-in-law Karey Dewing, great-grandchildren; Blain Dewing, Sophia Dewing, Vera Cate Dewing and Caroline Dewing.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 12 noon in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Christine Greenwald officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service time.
