Ruby Turner Ash, 92, of Gainesville died, Friday June 10, 2016.
Mrs. Ash retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Company and co-owned and operated The Daisy Burger in Cleveland in the 1970s. She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, cooking and reading. She became a Christian at an early age and became a member of Mount Yonah Baptist Church before they changed the name to Cleveland First Baptist Church. She and her husband were long time members of Poplar Springs Baptist, Gainesville, where he served as deacon until his death. She was later an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Statham Georgia. For the last 2 1/2 years she was a resident of Bentley Assisted Living in Jefferson.
Mrs. Ash was a daughter of the late John Wesley Turner and the late Maude Turner Marr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Ash, a brother and sister-in-law, John Edgar Turner and Billie McDaniel, and a brother, Henry Paul Turner.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Ash Carpenter and Bill E. Carpenter, Jefferson. Sisters, Ann Elizabeth Marr, Gainesville and Sandra Jean Rogers, Dahlonega, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday June 13, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Dr. Ronnie Healan, Dr. Bill Carpenter and Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Gainesville.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Monday June 13.
