Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Willie Mae Sisum, age 84 of Cleveland. Mrs Sisum entered this life on December 14, 1931 and entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 9, 2016
Willie Mae was born in Esom Hill, Georgia, she was a member of Emanuel Gospel Tabernacle in Cleveland, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Nettie (allen) Medley who lived their later years in White County. Willie Mae spent most of married life in White County, where she spent her life loving her family and caring about others. She was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. She carried with her a strength and a joy of life that only comes from a personal relationship with God, she had a sweet and gentle spirit. All who knew her loved her.
Willie Mae is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jacob (Jake) Lee Sisum Sr., sons, James Lee Sisum, Billy Wayne Sisum Sr. and daughter Wanda Sisum
Survivors include her children, Barbara and Lee Swafford of Ellijay, Carol and Harold Davis of Suches, James and Syble Newberry of Gainesville, Jackie and Sherrell Sisum of Murrayville, Jerry and Melissa Sisum of Murphy, North Carolina. 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Dispain, Marie Dispain and Betty Joe Gerrells and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Taylor and Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm and on Sunday until the funeral hour.
