Lonnie Wayne Youngblood Sr., age 68, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his home following a sudden illness.
Lonnie was born in Clayton, GA October 14, 1947. He had lived in Dahlonega for most of his life. He worked at the Mohawk Industries Pine Tree plant in Dahlonega for many years.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was veteran of the Viet Nam War and was of the Baptist faith.
Lonnie was the son of the late Worth Youngblood and Wilda Sims Youngblood and was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Youngblood.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Chambers Youngblood, Dahlonega, GA; son, Lonnie Youngblood II., Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Cindy O’Malley, Dahlonega, GA; brother, Harold Hollifield, Cleveland, GA; sister, Jessie Gunter, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Trinity Grace Youngblood and Sophie Lee Youngblood. Lots of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega all day on Friday, June 10, 2016 starting at 11 AM.
There will be a Military Honors service at 4 PM on Friday by the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard.
