Martha Ann Jones Holcomb went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 6, 2016. Born on November 24, 1936, Mrs. Holcomb was raised in Robbinsville, NC. She attended Piedmont College and then University of Illinois before returning to teach at Piedmont College. Mrs. Holcomb was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville, GA where she served as Nursery Director for over 40 years as well as being involved with GA’s, VBS and other committees. She was an integral part of the family business and used her knowledge of accounting in many capacities over her lifetime. She also served on the Habersham EMC Foundation Board which administers the Operation Round UP program.
Mrs. Holcomb is survived by her three children; Greg Holcomb (Kathleen), Ann Holcomb Westbrook (Alex) and Bron Holcomb (Karen) and also by her six grandchildren; Phillip Westbrook, Anna Westbrook, Erin Holcomb, Nicole Holcomb, Jackson Holcomb, and Caleb Holcomb. She is also survived by a sister, Rosemary J. Zimmerman (David), two half-sisters; Sharon J. Carlyle (Ed) and Lorrie J. Smith (Kevin) and a half-brother, Charlie Nelson, Jr. (Diane) and their families.
Mrs. Holcomb was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Holcomb, her sister and brother in law Charlene J. Jenkins and Houston Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Lois P. Jones and her father, Charlie N. Jones.
Visitation for Mrs. Holcomb will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville, GA with Rev. Tommy Stowe, Dr. Bill Cashion, and Rev. Bobby Gastley with interment to follow the service in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
