Eugene Ellis Worley

Eugene Ellis Worley, age 72 of Oakwood, passed away Friday, June 4, 2016.

 

Born in Lula, Georgia on September 7, 1943, he was a son of the late Lee and Ola Simmons Worley. Mr. Worley worked with Mount Vernon Mills with over 25 years of service and retired from Worley & Son Construction with 12 years of service.   He was a member of Belton Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Irvin Worley; son, Russell Worley; son-in-law, John Moore; brothers, Morgan Worley, Lee Worley, Jr., and Jackie Worley.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Kim Worley Moore of Oakwood, brother, Gordon Worley of Lula; sisters, Louise Thomas of Lula, and Betty Ruth Nix of Charleston, SC; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services are 11 am Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Scarborough and Mr. Danny Lewallen officiating. Interment will follow in the Belton Baptist Church cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
