Mr. Benjamin Irwin “Benny” Nation, age 58 of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.
Benny was born on April 8, 1958 in Young Harris, Georgia to parents, John Henry and Nova Lee Potts Nation. He had lived in Forsyth County before moving to Dahlonega in 1997. He was a member of Murrayville Baptist Church. Benny was part of Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Ministry.
In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by a sister, Della Mae Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brad Hubbard, brothers; Wayne Nation, Johnny Nation, Herbert Nation and Gerald Nation, sisters; Shelby Ledford, Willie Grindle; grandchildren; Mary Elizabeth Worthington, Nikolas Benjamin Posten, Jacob Hubbard, Lorryn Hubbard. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A memorial service for Benny will be held in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. Pastors John Lance and Kenny Rice will officiate. Special music by Meridith Gazaway. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until the service time.
