Harold Ledford

Funeral services for Harold Ledford, age 69, of Clarkesville will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Unity Baptist Church.  Rev. Jamie Chastain, Rev. Wesley Purcell and Rev. Marty Kilby will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery.   

Mr. Ledford passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016. 

Born on November 28, 1946 in Hayesville, NC, Mr. Ledford was the son of the late Arvil Cloe and Ola Burrell Ledford.  He was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he also served as Secretary and Treasure, as well as a Deacon.  Mr. Ledford was a supervisor at Habersham Mills and later worked in maintenance at Lee Arrendale State Prison.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledford is preceded in death by daughter Carol Leigh Ledford and sister Barbara Spiva. 

Survivors include his wife Geraldine Wood Ledford of Clarkesville, daughters and sons in law Tina and Wade Bortle of Athens and Mellisa and Robert Strickland of Clarkesville, brothers and sisters in law Darold and Polly Ledford of Hiawassee, Herman and Bell Ledford of Clarkesville, and Ricky and Shirley Ledford of Hiawassee, sisters and brothers in law Oleta and Bill Canup of Clarkesville, Vonita and Roy Matheson of Hiawassee, grandchildren Chantley (Terry Turner), Amanda, Jessica, Keely, Kaitlin, Tanner, and Wade, two great grandsons Chance and Myles and two great granddaughters Baylee and Railyn. 

The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
