Edith Thompson Little, age 69, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Edith was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was the manager at the Golden Pantry Store in Dahlonega for many years. She attended Community Chapel Congregational Holiness Church in Lumpkin County.
Edith was the daughter of the late Leonard Newt Thompson and Mandie Cantrell Thompson and was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Eugene Flanagan; and sisters, Evelyn Etheridge and Joyce Bunker.
Edith is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Elizabeth Flanagan, Gainesville, GA, Greg and Stacy Abernathy, Dahlonega, GA, Waylon Tolbert, Dahlonega, GA, and Clinton Tolbert, Gainesville, GA; daughters, Sheila Holloway and Angela Riggs, both of Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Stanley Murphy and Leonard Thompson, both of Dahlonega, GA; sisters, Ida Christian, Murrayville, GA, Ellen Smallwood, Louise Davis, and Linda Chamblee, all of Dahlonega, GA. 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Edith are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Community Chapel Congregational Holiness Church in Lumpkin County.
Rev. Pierce Ashmore and Rev. Marty Murphy will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6 PM until 9 PM, all day on Saturday and again on Sunday until service time.
