Audrey Simmons Armstrong, 60 of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side. She was a member of First Redeemer Church, Cumming, GA. A loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and friends and hosting parties. She was employed by Renasant Bank where she was a Senior Mortgage Banker. She was a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and has received numerous awards in the Mortgage Banking Industry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John William and Billie Jean Simmons; brother, David Allan Simmons; and father in law, J. Billy Hipp.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Joel Crawford Hipp of Cumming, GA; daughter and son in law, Alicia Rose and Matthew Dennison Brooks of Johns Creek, GA; grandson, Preston Eugene Brooks of Johns Creek, GA; step daughters, Merry Hunter Hipp of Macon, GA and Palmer Kathleen Hipp of Macon, GA; sister and brother in law, Sabina and John Silvoy of Ocala, FL; brother and sister in law, John William and Diane Simmons of Tifton, GA; sister and brother in law, April and Lee Collins of Statham, GA; sister in laws, Carrie Simmons of Ocila, GA and Julie and Gregory Sill of Spartanburg, SC; mother in law, Doris Miller Hipp of Spartanburg, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at North Lanier Baptist Church, Cumming, GA with the Rev. John Lay officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton, GA.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home, Cumming, GA.
