Bertie Lee Collins, age 76, of Cumming, passed away on May 20, 2016. Bertie was born in Dawsonville in the summer of 1939, to the late Willard and Edie Ophelia Flannigan. She was a faithful member to Amicalola Baptist Church in Dawsonville. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved tending to her flowers, mailing her loved ones cards, and loved her grand kids and great grandkids with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband Bill Collins Jr.; brother, James Flannigan, and sister Belle Almond.
Bertie is survived by her son, Charles Collins of Cumming; daughters and son-in-law, Patsy Woody of Cumming, Judy (Donnie) Truett of Jasper; grandchildren, Caroline (Alex) Gordon of Athens, Chasity (Shayne) Sizemore of Cumming, Nikki (Larry) Reece of Dawsonville, Lance (Mindy) Woody of Dawsonville, Caitlin and Cassidy Collins both of Cumming; 8 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde (Julie) Flannigan and Clyde (Patricia) Flannigan both of Cumming, sister, Betty Sams; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Collins will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and on Sunday, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
