Donald James Capie

Donald James Capie age 78 of Dahlonega and Chula Vista California passed away on May 17, 2016. Don was born in Long Island New York and served in the US Navy, he was a member of the Elks, Moose, VFW, Fleet Reserves, Eagles, Military Officers Association and Knights of Columbus.  He was retired as the Director of Transportation of Chula Vista City School district.

Don is preceded by his daughter Debbie Louise Capie, brothers Frank Capie, Robert Capie, and sister Louise Coolidge.

Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delia Capie, daughter Donna (Dan) Jackson of Dahlonega, GA, son Donald J. Capie Jr. (Martha) of Brownsville TX, daughter Delia Gill (Courtney) of Chula Vista, CA, son James Roser of Brownsville, TX, brothers James Capie of Long Island, NY, and Ken Capie of San Jose, CA; grandchildren; Donny Bray, Adrian Tarvin, Danielle Carter, Christopher Capie, Jasmine Young, Donald Capie III, Jordan Jackson, Jack Jackson, Cody Jackson; great grandchildren Landon Bray, Levi Carter, Adam Tarvin, Avery Tarvin, Paxton Bray, Emilie Tarvin, and Madeline Bray.

Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday May 25th, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Dahlonega with military honors to follow.
