Sally Louise Hudson

Obituary Date: Thursday, May 12, 2016

Sally Louise Hudson, age 83 of Cleveland, went to be with our Lord on April 12, 2016 at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living.

Mrs. Hudson was born on August 18, 1932, in Travis City, Michigan, to the late Clifford and Louise Perkett Round.  She was a retired labor and delivery registered nurse and attended church at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Dahlonega and Cleveland United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Hudson; granddaughter, Amy Parris; sisters, Nancy Curtwright and Ruth Bloom.

Sally and her husband Bill met, married and raised their family in California where she worked as a labor and delivery nurse.  Upon retirement they returned to the south and settled in Cleveland.  Sally always found joy in serving others.  While raising her family she volunteered in Girl Scouts for over 20 years.  She delivered Meals-on-Wheels in White County for 18 years, and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, helping earn money for college scholarships.  She worked for the Republican Party of White County as a poll volunteer for many elections.  However, she was best known for her ever-full coffee pot and the open chair on the porch.  She will be missed by her family and all who enjoyed spending time with her in this beautiful place.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patrice (Patti) and Jimmy Parris, Cleveland; daughter, Margie Conway, Crystal Beach, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Wanda Hudson, Morepark, California; grandchildren, Brandon Byerly, Kyle Parris, Eric Parris, Michelle Kessler, Kendra Diaz, Nathan Hudson; great grandchildren, Lucas Alvarez, Bella Scoates, Cassandra Diaz, Tucker Parris, Taylor Parris.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. David Bost will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Legion Post 16- P.O. Box 994 Cleveland, GA 30528
